A condensed version will premiere at The Furniture Bank gala in May 2025, with the full-length film debuting at the Houston Furniture Bank Gala the next year. Additional short-form content will be made available for marketing and educational outreach, maximizing the documentary’s impact. By raising awareness and mobilizing support, this film aims to spark real change—because no child should have to sleep on the floor.

For over 12 years, Ryne Thunderhawk has worked alongside Oli Mohammed, the founder of the Houston Furniture Bank, helping to expand its reach and amplify its mission to provide beds and furniture to families in need. Understanding the power of storytelling, Ryne saw an opportunity to bridge Houston’s creative community with this vital cause, leading to the idea of producing a documentary that raises awareness about the No Kids on the Floor initiative. By collaborating with Aaron Free of Not A Production Company (NAPC) and a team of passionate creatives, Ryne and Aaron are helping to bring this powerful story to life, ensuring that Houston—and beyond—sees the impact of Oli’s work and the urgent need to end childhood poverty, one bed at a time.

We are hosting a unique fundraising event benefiting the Houston Furniture Bank, where local artists transform furniture into stunning works of art to be auctioned in support of families in need. This event not only showcases the talent of Houston’s creative community but also directly supports the No Kids on the Floor initiative. Through creativity and philanthropy, artists will reimagine furniture into bold, meaningful, and functional art to raise essential funds for this life-changing mission.

From the March 28th kickoff event at STAR Furniture to the June 13th live auction, artists will have the opportunity to push creative boundaries while making a tangible impact. With five curated themes, each piece will tell a unique story of hope, imagination, and community.
